How I Saved My Father’s ₹75,000 in Just 2 Minutes! -A Real-Life Motivational Story

Smart Money Management can turn small decisions into big savings!

Hello friends, today I saved my father’s ₹75,000 on a smartphone purchase by making a smart money decision in just 2 minutes, which makes me very happy. Through this real-life story, I am not promoting any company or speaking badly about any brand, so don’t take it the wrong way. It is not necessary that you do what I did because I have just expressed my views here. So, let me briefly tell you how I saved my father’s money through this inspiring story.

A Special Celebration:

A few days ago, I got top marks in my exams. Both my parents were very happy at home. My father said to me,
“Son, I will get you a new smartphone to celebrate your exam results.”
Hearing this from Papa, I started dancing with joy. Papa and I went to a mobile phone shop. The shopkeeper asked Papa,
“Sir, what is your budget for buying a new mobile phone?”
Papa looked at me smiling and then replied to the shopkeeper, “Show my son the best smartphone he likes, even if it is expensive.”

I immediately pointed to an expensive flagship smartphone kept in front of me named “iPhone,” which cost around ₹84,000 to ₹85,000. Papa immediately took out the credit card from his purse and gave it to the shopkeeper.

A Life-Changing Encounter:

At that time, someone called Papa on his mobile phone, and he got busy talking. Just then, a person came to the shop with his daughter. That person said to the shopkeeper,
“Show me a good budget smartphone for my daughter Renu that is not too expensive.”

The shopkeeper kept 4 to 5 affordable smartphones in front of Renu, out of which she liked one. When Renu’s father asked the price of that budget-friendly smartphone, he came to know that it was worth ₹14,000. Renu’s father explained to his daughter,
“Look, princess, my monthly salary is only ₹15,000. If we buy a phone worth ₹14,000, how will we manage our household expenses?”

Hearing her father’s helplessness, Renu smiled a little and said to the shopkeeper,
“Show me a cheap smartphone.”

The shopkeeper kept the cheapest Vivo smartphone in front of Renu, which cost around ₹10,000. The shopkeeper explained to Renu,
“This mobile does not have all the features that the ₹14,000 phone had, and the company of this phone is also different.”

A Lesson in Simplicity-A Valuable Life Lesson

Hearing the shopkeeper, Renu smiled and said,
“I am buying a smartphone so that I can learn about new technology by using applications like WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube properly. All these apps work smoothly on both expensive smartphones and budget smartphones. Apart from this, I have to talk to my family members and friends, for which calling facilities are available on both cheap and expensive smartphones. I don’t see any special reason to buy an overpriced smartphone, so pack the cheapest Vivo phone.”

Renu’s words made me think too. Hearing her, the shopkeeper laughed and said,
“Madam, there are many reasons why flagship smartphones are expensive. Premium smartphones have many features that you will not find in budget phones. There are many people in the world who prefer to buy only high-end smartphones. The camera clarity of expensive smartphones is amazing, which you probably do not know about.”

Renu told the shopkeeper,
“I agree that the camera quality in expensive phones is better than budget smartphones, but I don’t want to take photos and videos with my mobile phone all the time. I am neither a photographer nor a YouTuber who needs to upload high-quality photos and videos on the internet every day. I am very happy even with a budget-friendly smartphone because today I saved my father’s ₹5,000.”

Saying this, Renu took out her affordable smartphone from the box. She was very happy and was taking selfies with her father.

A Change of Heart: – Smart Money Management

Renu’s words also forced me to think that whether a phone is cheap or expensive, we use only a few features of the phone. If we get all those features in a budget-friendly smartphone, then we should not misuse our parents’ hard-earned money by buying an overpriced phone.Practicing smart money management can help anyone make wise financial decisions (learn more here)

After talking on the phone, Papa came to me. I told him about Renu and said that I also wanted the cheapest smartphone. Papa was going to get me my dream smartphone, which cost ₹85,000, but I changed my mind in 2 minutes and bought the best budget smartphone, which cost ₹10,000. In this way, I saved ₹75,000 of Papa’s money, for which I am very happy.

Final Thoughts: -An Eye-Opening Story

Most people in the world use expensive smartphones not for talking but for clicking high-resolution photos or for recording high-quality videos. Some people buy flagship smartphones just to use popular apps like WhatsApp and YouTube. There are some people who have bought costly mobile phones with their parents’ hard-earned money, but they do not even have complete knowledge of the phone’s features.

If you want to use only some essential applications like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and WhatsApp, then you can save money like me by buying a budget-friendly smartphone.

Remember that your hobbies may be expensive, but your parents’ money is the result of their hard work.
